Jonathan Pine is een voormalige soldaat die nu manager is van een luxe hotel. Op een avond komt hij Sophie tegen, een Frans-Arabische vrouw en minnares van een Arabische wapenhandelaar die banden heeft met Onslow Roper, een nog grotere wapenhandelaar. Sophie overhandigt Jonathan belastende documenten en vraagt die aan de Egyptische autoriteiten over te dragen. Jonathan geeft de documenten echter ook aan het Britse MI-6. Niet veel later wordt Sophie dood aangetroffen. Wanneer 6 maanden later Roper weer opduikt in het hotel wordt hij door een stel agenten van de inlichtingendienst aangeworven om te infiltreren in het internationale netwerk van de illegale wapenhandel. Jonathan staat te popelen om wraak te nemen voor Sophie en stemt ermee in.
