The episode begins with Ash and his friends taking an excursion to the Muraille Coast before heading out to the Cyllage City for Ash's Gym battle with Grant. After lunch, Ash decides that they should work on their strategy for countering Grant's Rock Tomb, and Pikachu, Froakie, and Fletchling are all ready to train.
